Programming
I am a web software developer for a West Michigan company where I flex the power of Perl and Apache on a daily basis. I am also the vice president of the Grand Rapids Perl Mongers group where I have given presentations on doing software development in Perl. My current pet project is a Catalyst web application I’m using to explore the capabilities of Catalyst and experiment with some open source / online community ideas. I might even finish it some day…
Design
Ron Porritt Photography
My father’s website for his photography business. This was the first site I attempted on my own and consists simply of a set of static HTML pages, which perfectly suits the size of the site at the moment. Contact him if you like the pictures!
Thirsty Tree
A project a few coworkers and myself started a while back. I did the initial HTML and CSS for the site as templates (and also participated in the bible study podcasts). This site is also simply a group of HTML files for the moment, though given a bit of time we have some very ambitious plans!
Wordpress theme competition
On somewhat of a whim I entered the Sandbox Design Competition and submitted one design despite discovering the competition just a few days before the deadline. My design was Oriole, which was the basis for the theme I’m using on my blog (this site). I was very happy with the result, tying for 8th place out of 46 entries.
This website
This website, my blog, is a variation of the theme I did for the Sandbox theme competition. The HTML is unmodified from the Sandbox theme’s HTML but the CSS and images are my original creation.
